First North American Shangpa Mönlam – August 1-4, 2019 | An especially auspicious day

Shangpa Mönlam, conducted by H.E. Kalu Rinpoche, is occurring for the first time in the United States.

Mönlam creates aspirations for the enlightenment of all beings and peace for the world. Practicing these prayers with a group of highly motivated beings is extremely powerful.

The last day of Mönlam occurs on Chökhor Düchen, which celebrates the First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma – when Shakyamuni Buddha gave his first teachings at Sarnath – an especially auspicious day. We will offer practices and prayers in honor of this day during the morning and conclude in the afternoon with a cultural program including Lama dances.
