The 2nd year of the three-year and three-month Shangpa Kagyu retreat at Paldenshangpa La Boulaye, concluded on November 15th 2024. It went very well for all the retreatants who practiced diligently under the guidance of His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche and the retreat Master.

The three-year retreat is an essential practice in Vajrayana Buddhism. Before attaining Enlightenment, Buddha Shakyamuni underwent a self-imposed six-year retreat in the wilderness, adhering to rigorous meditation and practice without distraction.
According to the teachings, the person who provides financial support to a retreatant accumulates the same merit as the one engaging in the retreat.
