Compassion is not just beneficial to other people, but it is also beneficial to yourself. Because when you have a sense of compassionate mindset, and you’re more distance from the selfishness, sense of illusion of selfishness.
Practicing compassion is like keeping a constant reflection about yourself and having a sense of awareness. And then, long as you keep that, and then when you keep that sense of reflection to yourself and always seeing your constant mistake and always having the sense of honesty and sense of joy when you’re practicing Dharma, and yet at the same time having the sense of compassionate at all times, and when you have that, and then naturally all the negativity, distraction, dissolves by itself.
The definition of compassion is not just wanting to help other people and helping other people and being completely patient and without wanting anything in return, good or bad, doesn’t matter but yet at the same time having a sense of stability of being and staying pure, and that is the true meaning of compassionate.
