Q: When we face very extreme emotion, how can we handle that?
A: I think to overcome our difficulties with the emotions… what happens is like that, people just come to the dharma center like probably three times or once a week, few times a month. Then they expect everything to work fine without any struggle. It is true that dharma itself does not has to struggle with anybody, because it is the truth. It is simple. It is meaningful. It doesn’t hold into everybody’s life. But I think our emotions qualities are there also, negative or positive. So before we start to think how we can use dharma to overcome our state of emotions, there is need to take a little bit of time to do practice.
Because when we have practiced more than one hour and a half, we were completely distracted. But yet our arrogance tells us that ‘I have done my practice today. I should be proud of myself’ etc. But even then, we must still continue with our practice. And then naturally, the quality of what we have accumulated will give positive influence on our path.
