Therefore, the advanced practitioner, there is no such concept in the “Illusory body and mind” not much detail as an average practitioner because they already reach to that level of understanding.
The very existence of that immense compassion and devotion and so on and so forth comes from renunciation. Like renunciation means sincerity in your spiritual journey, right? I told you already. You cannot make it perfect right away from the beginning, your whole surrounding, but at least when you practice, sincerity.
[Tibetan]In the traditional teachings, it says, it starts with the refuge, bodhicitta, “cleansing of the AH” or without the “cleansing of the AH” either way, you have to start with renunciation. So the whole “Illusory body and mind” has to start with a few sentence of renunciation.
So when I say “it starts” it means first, of course it starts with “everything is impermanent”, you do breathing exercise, you take refuge, “cleansing of the AH”. Once you finish the “cleansing of the AH” then you start again, having a deep reflection and say “everything is samsara, the cause of the suffering, reality of the suffering, everything is bound to change, that’s the nature of the impermanence” and so on. So some few sentence again with the deeper reflection.
Okay, you are not confused? So alright? Just want to make sure I’m not going too fast for some of you. Okay, if I am too fast for you then good luck, I’m not going to repeat again! I am going to pretend that I’m a compassionate being, that I care. [haha] Anyway, so, going back.
So, such as reflecting on six realms of samsara and then also “everything is bound to change, everything is impermanence, the death is bound to face”.
So just try to think like that, don’t argue with it. I understand that some of you might try to justify “why we have to go so much with a great sadness and thinking about the death and all that”. I understand that, you can keep that argument after the session when you do your practice. When you are doing the “Illusory body and mind” just try it, it’s not harming, just try!
Such as “everything is bound to change, everything is impermanence and the death is bound to come as there is a life, the cycle of life” and so on.
