Kalu Rinpoche | Mahakala wangs – clarity of the mind is important

Then if you can just look at the taste of that and then of course the devotion will grow even more and the compassion to all the sentient beings will grow even more.

There is no such individual who claims to have a tremendous devotion to the Guru and yet lack of compassion to sentient beings. It is a contradiction if somebody says like that.

So therefore one who has that very clear devotion, that individual has a great clarity in one’s own mind. Therefore all the illusionary of the samsaric world doesn’t distract them in his spiritual path.

Therefore that individual has immense compassion because seeing the reality of the suffering, very raw, rather than a self-excuse, rather than somebody else telling him but rather you see it as it is. Therefore you generate immense compassion and so on.

So therefore first, before we grasp the idea of compassion, to generate compassion clarity of the mind is important.

Clarity of the mind, and how we practice and then along with that little bit of compassion practice and eventually the compassion will take over as we develop wisdom, as we develop clarity in the practice.

Yeah, so that’s that.
