Kalu Rinpoche | The meaning of the empowerment (Part 5)

So some of you might be thinking “Oh yeah, why should I receive so many empowerments?” Well, you can receive many empowerment, for your future purpose, but you should practice one empowerment and one deity for more longer duration. But you should receive many empowerments from many different traditions as much as possible.

And then maybe in the future you will get opportunity to do some kind of a retreat. Maybe you will find a different master that you feel really connected from the bottom of the heart, and then you may want to do the retreat and teachings and practice with the sanghas. And then at that time, you don’t have an opportunity to receive empowerment again. So therefore receiving many empowerment as you can.

I’m not saying that you have to throw yourself literally in the path of empowerment, I’m not saying that. I’m just saying that if, if ever the situation is favorable to you, without spending too much of your effort and so on, so forth, then of course go ahead and receive the empowerment. It’s better to receive it.

But, when it comes to practice, just focus on the one practice. Don’t listen to all this judgement from other people where they say “Oh you received this empowerment, Oh you need to practice this one, and only this one” you don’t have to think about that. Because all the empowerment that we are receiving, all the teachings that we are receiving, is all linked to the Buddha Shakyamuni. So therefore, nothing is, none of the practice is going one against another.

So long as they are enlightened deities, you continue, and you focus with your practice. So then when you find a better opportunities, then due to the empowerment that you have received in the past, then you are more free to practice and join a different sangha – if ever that becomes a reality.

So that’s that.
