So now, the second category of explanation is, there are thirteen different types of Six-Armed Mahakala, okay? So, when I say thirteen different types, means they all have six-armed and different colours, different purposes, different practices, different mantras, but they are all six-armed, okay?
Because sometimes when we hear the word of Mahakala, we think of the Nepali statue shop. Just because they have a little bit wrathful face, “ah, it’s Mahakala, it’s Mahakala”. Not every wrathful face is Mahakala. There is a Vajrapani that looks like a Mahakala and there is a Two arms, Four arms, Six arms, right? So there is a different type of lineage and origin, of protector.
Within the Shawaripa lineage, the Shangpa lineage, we have thirteen different types of Six-Armed Mahakala but the main one is Dark-blue.
Am I going too fast, is it okay? Alright, so, and then within the Dark-blue, there is different aspect of practice empowerment:
– There is a one with the Guru and the Mahakala inseparable [Lagön Yermé] (1) and then
– there is Six-Armed Mahakala and Vajrasattva inseparable [Dripsel] (2) and then
– there is Six-Armed Mahakala and Vajrayogini empowerment [Khandro Wangdu] (3) and then
– there is the Dark-Blue Six-Armed Mahakala empowerment [Dispeller of All Obstacles – Barché Kunsel] (4), Meditation Six- Armed Mahakala empowerment [ting ngé dzin gyi wang].
So and then, now empowerment wise I have explained.
