Kalu Rinpoche | Wisdom of emptiness in everyday life – devotion and unconditional support

Finally I would like to say “Thank you to our online participants and also in person participants and thank you for translating and being very tolerant towards me.” Then I would like to thank the volunteers of FPMT, of Buddhist Ganden Center, and then also the Board of directors, and the regular participants. I want to say thank you for being here and working very hard, and all the preparations and so on.

This is a Centre with a very beautiful origin of Lama Yeshe Rinpoche and Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Then of course your responsibility is to hold on together, maintain with the Dharma ethic and then when there is a reincarnation of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, support him fully, and that is your responsibility.

Because my responsibly was that. When I was young, with no experience, and then I had a lot of senior lamas, they showed their full dedication, devotion, support, unconditionally. If the support is based on condition then it is not a support, you know, unconditionally. There were some other people who made some troubles, that is normal.

So all of you, as a Sangha, as a Buddhist practitioner, do not change your loyalty. Be dedicated to His Holiness Dalai Lama and Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s wish and his aspiration, maintain it, stay together, support together. Then when the reincarnation is there, support, with your Dharma dedication and aspiration. Then if you show that kind of a devotion and support, the reincarnation will be definitely beneficial to all the sentient beings. If you show your support based on your terms and conditions, then it will be very difficult. So therefore it is a collective responsibility.

I am where I am today is because the blessings and support of His Holiness Dalai Lama and Situ Rinpoche and my senior students who had a relation with Previous Kalu Rinpoche, as a sponsor, as a practitioner, as a close friend, then also as a Dharma Centre. All of these collective support were there. Temporarily it was not there, temporarily it was there, eventually everybody came together over the time.

So for the upbringing of the Rinpoche all of your collective dedication is very important. Be firm, be dedicated, do not be deceived by other people.
