And that is when you start to reflect on the meaning of compassion but you also have to start an analytical understanding of why we need to be compassionate and why the sentient beings are suffering. It is because the self-centered attitude and the illusion that we created from our ignorant mind and the ego and the pride and so on.
So therefore when you reflect in your mind and understanding towards that direction, you have nowhere to turn but come to an acceptance with great sincerity towards your spiritual journey.
Then the reason why you are here today is because the topic is reflected in your way of life and that is how to utilise the meaning of emptiness or the understanding of emptiness in our daily life. So the reason that you are attracted to that meaning is because you want to develop some sort of contentment in your mind. That’s the reason why you are here and that is the reason why we are all Buddhist practitioner.
Buddhist practitioner doesn’t mean that you have to convert to anything. Because even in the time of the Buddha, many other different religions existed already. The idea of the conversion was there but the Buddha did not promote it from the Buddhist perspective, the whole idea about the conversion and so on and so forth.
We as a Buddhist practitioner are understanding about the universal truth and universal suffering and the reality of the suffering and the sincerity of our approach towards our spiritual journey.
Whether you consider yourself extreme traditionalist or moderate or lazy Buddhist practitioner, however you like to identify as a Buddhist practitioner or non-religious Buddhist practitioner, whatever you like to call yourself that’s none of my business that’s your business, but the main point is that in order to understand the meaning of emptiness and some form of emptiness and some form of wisdom and the only way to reach there is by understanding the relative truth of our emotions, the negative emotions, the cause of the suffering, reality of the suffering of our negative emotions. Having an insight towards the emotion is important.
