Latest update on activities in Salugara – December 27, 2022

A sincere and heartfelt special thanks to all our patrons for making all this possible.

The great Stupa and Monastery in Salugara has been in dire need of repainting and renovation for a number of years. With the funds finally allocated, the work is now proceeding.

Classes for the monks and lamas has been suspended for a few months as they proceed to clean, repair and repaint the stupa built by the previous Kalu Rinpoche. Most of the work will be performed by the monks and lamas of the monastery under the guidance of professionals.

After all the scaffolding was erected, the first part was to asses any repair that needed to be done, then the monks started to clean all parts of the stupa including the iron work. After the cleaning, painting is proceeding on the cleaned parts.

All the monks and lamas eagerly participate in this project as it not only their home, but a beautiful place for the public to come and worship and hold all the pujas and Buddhist ceremonies.

The stupa is a beacon of hope and comfort not only for the residents of Salugara but to all who pass or visit it fulfilling the benefit of all sentient beings.

The education and classes will resume after the work has been completed.

Please donate to Droden Kunchab Chodey Monastery!

Thank you to everyone who have helped and are helping to create a better environment for the monks and lamas.
