[Refuge prayer x3]

In the Buddha, the Dharma and the Supreme Assembly

Through the merit of practising generosity and so on,

འགྲོ་ལ་ཕན་ཕྱིར་སངས་རྒྱས་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག །

May I attain buddhahood for the benefit of all beings.

So today we are doing the Mahakala and the four Combined deities རྗེས་གནང་jenang[permission empowerment].

Since I was very small, since my childhood, I was very close, feeling very close to the Six-Armed Mahakala. At Norbulingka I was almost like the “cherished child of Mahakala” and I also felt very close to Mahakala.

So anyway, the practice and meditation on the altruistic spiritual enlightenment, bodhicitta and the view of emptiness are my main practices, as it is the heart of Mahakala himself as well.

And so I have been like the “dear child of Mahakala”. So even when I was in China or after coming into exile, I rely on Mahakala inseparably. So here those of us who are in exile, we have freedom. And as we have the freedom we are making prayer to Mahakala. And we are doing this permission blessing of Mahakala.

The Six-Armed Mahakala, regarding the Six-Armed Mahakala, Mahakala at Norbulingka, when I was fleeing I saw the Mahakala in Norbulingka and I very clearly remember that the Six-Armed Mahakala was actually smiling at me and winking at me. So it shows that his enlightened activity is inseparably with me. So during my visit to China or after coming into exile here in India, the Six-Armed Mahakala has been my main Dharma Protector.

So we are doing this permission blessing of Six-Armed Mahakala.

And regarding His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche [previous Kalu Rinpoche], he had very unique connection with Six-Armed Mahakala and then the students of Kalu Rinpoche, of course it’s your own wish. And from my side also, I feel the Six-Armed Mahakala to be different from others with regards to the accomplishment of common siddhis or realising Bodhicitta through the practice of loving kindness and compassion and also the view of emptiness. The Six-Armed Mahakala is something different, it’s unique.

So in order to do the permission blessing, so disciples have to rinse your mouth, now so the mandala offering is done.
