Mahakala puja for Kalu Rinpoche’s long life and activities

On the occasion of Kalu Rinpoche’s birthday, the monks and lamas of the Salugara monastery held a three day Mahakala puja for Rinpoche’s long life and activities.

On this occasion The venerable Lama Mingmar presented new robes to the monks and Mr. Daniel Richardson donated football outfits and sports equipment to the monks. These gifts were greatly appreciated by all the monks. The monks and lamas also enjoyed a few days of holiday.

The monks continue in their studies and classes overseen by the lamas. They also continue their online English lessons with Lama Tenpa while he is away from the monastery. The lamas are requesting a Buddhist philosophy teacher, to teach the monks at the monastery in the near future to round out their education. The ongoing classes are: Tibetan language, recitation and memorization, torma making, playing of musical instruments, ritual protocol, and English lessons that include some science and social studies.

As always, the monks and lamas continue to offer many prayers in gratitude to all the patrons that donate to the monks and monastery so they can fulfill the aspirations and wishes of Kalu Rinpoche.
