Meditation and the Four-Armed Manifestation of Avalokiteshvara.
We have the great honor of welcoming H.E. Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche, the lineage holder of the Shangpa Kagyu lineage to teach at Tibet House US. Rinpoche will be sharing his uniquely accessible and contemporary approach to meditation and dharma in this extraordinary weekend.
On Saturday, Rinpoche will give an introductory teaching on meditation, including practice and discussion.
On Sunday, Rinpoche will confer instruction and empowerment on the four-armed manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. This profound practice of Chenrezig, “The Infinite Benefit of All Beings”, is said to have first been revealed to the mahasiddha and master bridge maker Tangtong Gyalpo in a pure vision. It was first introduced to the West by the previous Kyabjé Kalu Rinpoche who was one of the first teachers to present preliminary practices (ngondro) and the practice of Chenrezig as a Yidam. This teaching is considered to be a profound transmission of the tools to develop the capacity to manifest enlightened qualities and a means to connect with specific aspects of the enlightened mind.
