༄༅། །སངས་རྒྱས་ཀུན་འདུས་བླ་མའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་གར།

sang gyé kün dü la mé yé shé gar
The spiritual master’s dance of wisdom, all buddhas in your single form;

།རབ་འབྱམས་རྒྱལ་བ་སྲས་བཅས་ཡི་དམ་ལྷ།

rap jam gyelwa sé ché yi dam lha
The infinite expanse of deities, victors and your heirs;

།དཔའ་བོ་ཌཱ་ཀི་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཆོས་སྲུང་ཚོགས།

pawo da ki dor jé chö sung tsok
Hosts of dakinis, spiritual heroes, and the Teachings’ vajra guardians:

།རྨད་བྱུང་མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་པས་དགོངས་སུ་གསོལ།

mé jung khyen tsé nü pé gong su söl
Consider me with your excellent love, wisdom, and capability.

།སྲིད་ཞིའི་ཕན་བདེའི་འབྱུང་གནས་ཐུབ་པའི་བསྟན།

si zhi pen dé jung né tup pé ten
The eight chariots of lineages of meditation contain the essential transmission and realization

།ལུང་རྟོགས་སྙིང་པོ་སྒྲུབ་བརྒྱུད་ཤིང་རྟ་བརྒྱད།

lung tok nying po drup gyü shing ta gyé
Of the Buddha’s doctrine, source of all benefit and happiness within existence and quiescence.

།ཀུན་ལས་རྨད་བྱུང་ཁྱད་ཆོས་དུ་མས་འཕགས།

kün lé mé jung khyé chö du mé pak
Foremost among the eight, exalted in its many outstanding qualities,

།དཔལ་ལྡན་ཤངས་པའི་བསྟན་པ་རྒྱས་གྱུར་ཅིག

pal den shang pé ten pa gyé gyur chik
Is the glorious Shangpa lineage doctrine: may it continue to flourish!

།རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆད་དང་ཡེ་ཤེས་མཁའ་འགྲོ་སོགས།

dor jé ché dang yé shé khandro sok
Former and later lineages of Seven Jewels,¹

།ས་བཅུའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་འཕགས་པའི་སྤང་རྟོགས་ཅན།

sa chü wang chuk pak pé pang tok chen
Such as Buddha Vajradhara and the wisdom dakinis,

།རིན་ཆེན་བདུན་བརྒྱུད་ཕྲེང་བ་སྔ་ཕྱིའི་སྲོལ།

rin chen dün gyü trengwa nga chi söl
Are masters of awakening’s tenth stage, who have exalted renunciation and realization:

།དཔལ་ལྡན་ཤངས་པའི་བསྟན་པ་རྒྱས་གྱུར་ཅིག

pal den shang pé ten pa gyé gyur chik

།ཁྱད་པར་རྒྱལ་བས་ལུང་བསྟན་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་ཆེ།

khyé par gyelwé lung ten dzuntrül ché
In particular, the great magician the Victor foretold,

།མཐར་ཐུག་ལྔ་ལྡན་མཁས་གྲུབ་ཁྱུང་པོ་རྗེའི།

tar tuk nga den khé drup khyung po jé
Learned, accomplished Lord Kyungpo, endowed with the five ultimate teachings,

།པན་གྲུབ་བརྒྱ་དང་ལྔ་བཅུའི་ཐུགས་བཅུད་སྙིང༌།

pen drup gya dang nga chü tuk chü nying
Gathered one hundred and fifty scholars and accomplished masters’ mind-essence:

།དཔལ་ལྡན་ཤངས་པའི་བསྟན་པ་རྒྱས་གྱུར་ཅིག

The fully qualified vajra master brings disciples to spiritual maturity

།གསང་རྒྱུད་ཉིང་ཁུ་རྒྱུད་སྡེ་ཆེན་ཕོ་ལྔ།

sang gyü nying khu gyü dé chen po nga
With blessings of authorization-empowerments

།བྱིན་རླབས་དབང་གི་བཀའ་ཡིས་སྨིན་བྱས་པ།

jin lap wang gi ka yi min jé pa
Of the secret tantras’ essence, the five major tantras:

Of Joyous Vajra, Great Illusion, Matrix of Mystery, Binder of the Wheel, and Fearsome Vajra:

Clear Light, Seal of Activity, and Overt Wrathful Conduct—

Are Dorjé Denpa’s supreme, special heart-instructions:

gong chü tün min ser chö nam ngé tsül
Is taught as the Five Golden Doctrines:

tang tong gyel dang jé tsün dröl chok zhap
Flowed to Tangtong Gyalpo and to noble Kunga Drolchok.

།འཇམ་མགོན་རྣམ་གཉིས་ཉེ་བརྒྱུད་བྱིན་བརླབས་འབར།

jam gön nam nyi nyé gyü jin lap bar
These two gentle lord protectors’ recent lineages blaze with blessings:

khyen chö da drel drup nyé hé ru kah
Empowered with a treasury of seas of profound meanings,

།སྒྲོལ་བའི་མགོན་པོའི་ཤིང་རྟའི་ལམ་སྲོལ་འཛིན།

drölwé gön pö shing té lam söl dzin
Preserved the tradition of this path’s way:

tri trak cho gyé kyi tsön gang chen gyi
And his 180,000 disciples who became spiritual guides

།འཕགས་ཚོགས་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་བཤད་རྩོད་སྒྲུབ་པའི་ལམ།

pak tsok gya tsö shé tsö drup pé lam
Taught this path of teaching, debate, and meditation practice to seas of exalted beings,

tsö pé dü kyang drup pé tak tsen gyi
The brilliance of this lineage’s ultimate blessings provides signs and indications

།ཡིད་ཆེས་ངེས་པ་སྟེར་བའི་ངོ་མཚར་ཅན།

yi ché ngé pa terwé ngo tsar chen
Which inspire deep confidence—how amazing!

All deluded thoughts during the four circumstances must be purified;

།སྦྱོང་བྱེད་ཐབས་ལམ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཆོས་དྲུག་གིས།

jong jé tap lam dor jé chö druk gi
The path of means—Six Vajra Doctrines—purify them

།སྦྱང་འབྲས་བར་དོ་གསུམ་དུ་དབུགས་འབྱིན་ལམ།

jang dré bar do sum du wunjin lam
And produce purification’s result—the path that ensures enlightenment during the three intermediate states:

yé shé bep pé sem kyi dar sha ché
With wisdom’s descent, a conclusion concerning the mind is reached.

།ཐུན་མིན་ལམ་གྱིས་སྐུ་བཞིའི་སར་སྦྱོར་བའི།

tün min lam gyi ku zhi sar jorwé
This special path leads to the basis, enlightenment’s four bodies:

dor jé chang wang zhel lung ba zhik pé
The heart of pith instructions, subject of seas of discourses and tantras.

།ལོ་ཟླ་ཙམ་གྱིས་ཟུང་འཇུག་སར་སྦྱོར་བྱེད།

lo da tsam gyi zunjuk sar jor jé
In a matter of months or years, they lead to integral union’s exalted state:

chak dröl dé tong tsendali zhu dé
Employ chandali’s melting and bliss to produce bliss and emptiness that liberate desire,

།མཁའ་སྤྱོད་དགའ་མའི་དྲུང་དུ་ཁྲིད་ནུས་པ།

kha chö ga mé drung du tri nü pa
Guiding meditators to the joyous celestial goddesses’ presence:

kyenchi nam min pung pö dang zhi tong
There is no basis for designating aggregates in the ripened karma of birth and death.

།འཆི་མེད་འཆུགས་མེད་ཕྱག་རྒྱ་ཆེར་གྲོལ་བྱེད།

chi mé chuk mé chak gya cher dröl jé
The meditation of immortality and infallibility provides liberation within Great Seal:

This path remains unpolluted by ordinary minds’ intellectual creations,

།གསེར་ཞུན་ལྟ་བུའི་རྡོ་རྗེ་གསུང་གི་ཚོགས།

ser zhün ta bü dor jé sung gi tsok
A collection of vajra speech, like molten gold:

Presents himself as Rapid Awakened Protector,

།དོན་གཉིས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཕྲིན་ལས་རྨད་བྱུང་ཅན།

dön nyi lhün drup trin lé mé jung chen
Foremost protector of the activity that spontaneously accomplishes the two goals:

gyelwé trin lé tsowo lung tok chö
The victors’ main activity is the teaching of transmission and realization,

།ཀུན་གྱི་སྙིང་པོ་ངོ་མཚར་རྨད་བྱུང་བ།

kün gyi nying po ngo tsar mé jungwa
Of which this is the foremost, innermost wondrous essence:

Learned, accomplished Kyungpo,

།མཚུངས་མེད་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་མཐུས།

tsung mé la ma nam kyi tuk kyé tü
Two lineages of Seven Jewels, and Tangtong Gyalpo—

yi dam lha dang khandro chö kyong tsok
Hosts of dakinis and the Teachings’ protectors,

།ཡེ་ཤེས་མགོན་པོ་འཁོར་བཅས་ཕྲིན་ལས་མཐུས།

yé shé gön po khor ché trin lé tü
And Awakened Protector with his retinue,

།དཔལ་ལྡན་༴།

།དེར་འཛིན་སྐྱེས་ཀུན་ཞབས་བརྟན་བཞེད་དོན་འགྲུབ།

der dzin kyé kün zhap ten zhé dön drup
May persons who preserve it live long and may their wishes be accomplished;

།ས་སྟེང་རྒྱན་གྱུར་འདུས་པས་ཡོངས་ཁེངས་ནས།

sa teng gyen gyur dü pé yong kheng né
May temples, ornaments on this earth, be filled with the virtuous community:

ngé jung tsön drü mö gü ché cher pel
May their disengagement, diligence, and devotion forever increase;

།ཉམས་རྟོགས་ཏིང་འཛིན་བརྙེས་པས་མཛེས་པ་ཡི།

nyam tok ting dzin nyé pé dzé pa yi
May attainment of experience, realization, and meditative states beautifully adorn them:

Dispel all decline due to times of sickness, famine, and war.

།འགྲོ་ཀུན་སེམས་རྒྱུད་ཆོས་ལ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡིས།

dro kün sem gyü chö la chö pa yi
May all beings’ minds enter the spiritual path:

May I preserve without error the pith of discourses’ and tantras’ teachings.

།ཁྱུང་པོ་རྣལ་འབྱོར་རྣམ་ཐར་བཞིན་སྤྱོད་པས།

khyung po nenjor nam tar zhin chö pé
May I follow the example of Kyungpo Naljor’s life and liberation:

May any connection with me prove meaningful; may I guide all beings to freedom.

zap dön nyin jé tang mar delwa yi
May the sun of the profound meaning spread over the plains:

May I increase the benefit and happiness of Buddhism and beings

།བསྟན་འགྲོའི་ཕན་བདེ་སྤྤེལ་ཞིང་རྒྱས་བྱེད་པས།

ten drö pen dé pel zhing gyé jé pé
Through the display of many wonderful miracles:

Those who make a connection with this path attain accomplishment in their lifetime,

།མངོན་དགའ་བདེ་བ་ཅན་སོགས་བླ་མ་རྣམས།

ngön ga dewa chen sok la ma nam
Then are reborn in pure lands, such as Joyous or Blissful, where these masters dwell,

།མདོར་ན་རང་གཞན་བསྟན་འགྲོའི་དོན་མཐའ་དག

dor na rang zhen ten drö dön ta dak
In brief, may I accomplish every goal for Buddhism and beings, for others and myself,

།ཟབ་ཆོས་ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་བུ་འདིས་སྒྲུབ་ནས།

zap chö yi zhin nor bu di drup né
By practicing the wish-fulfilling jewel of these profound teachings

།སྲས་བཅས་རྒྱལ་བའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་རྗེས་སྒྲུབ་པས།

sé ché gyelwé trin lé jé drup pé
And may I then follow the example of buddhas’ and bodhisattvas’ enlightened activity:

།དཔལ་ལྡན་ཤངས་པའི་བསྟན་པ་རྒྱས་གྱུར་ཅིག།

pal den shang pé ten pa gyé gyur chik

ཅེས་པའང་ཚ་ཚྭའི་སྒྲུབ་བླ་ཀརྨ་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་བློ་ལྡན་ནས་ལྷ་རྫས་ཀྱི་རྟེན་བཅས་གསུངས་བསྐུལ་བཞིན་རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཞེ་ཆེན་པ་ཆེན་པོ་འགྱུར་མེད་པདྨ་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་གྱིས་བཀའ་དྲིན་ལས། སྒྲུབ་བརྒྱུད་ཤིང་རྟ་བརྒྱད་ཀྱི་ཟབ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་ཉིང་ཁུ་མཐའ་དག་གི་སྣོད་རུང་དུ་གྱུར་ཅིང༌། དཔལ་ལྡན་ཤངས་པའི་གསེར་ཆོས་ལ་ལྷག་པར་དད་པའི་ཀུ་སཱ་ལའི། འགྱུར་མེད་ཐེག་མཆོག་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་གྱིས་འཕགས་ཡུལ་རྡོ་རྗེ་གླིང་གི་ཆར་གསང་སྔགས་བཤད་སྒྲུབ་གླིང་གི་གཙུག་ལག་ཁང་དུ་རྗེ་བཙུན་ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་པའི་དུས་ཀྱི་མཆོད་པའི་སྐབས་བྲིས་ཤིང་སྙིང་ནས་སྨོན་པ་དོན་དང་ལྡན་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག། དགེ་འོ།། །།

Karma Tsultrim Loden, a lama from Tsa-tsa Monastery’s three-year retreat, offered me a scarf of divine silk and encouraged me to write this prayer. Through the kindness of the perfect Buddha, Gyurmé Péma Namgyal, Zhéchen Monastery’s great master, I became a vessel for profound teachings that constitute the entire essence of the practice lineage’s eight chariots. I have particularly strong faith in the glorious Shangpa lineage’s Five Golden Doctrines. I, the kusali Gyurmé Teg-chok Tenpé Gyaltsen [Dilgo Kyentsé Rinpoché], wrote this in the temple of Sang-ngak Shédrup Ling, in Darjeeling on the occasion of offerings made in memory of the noble, omniscient master [Taranata].

May this, my heart-felt prayer, prove meaningful.
