Q: Is clarity and illumination similar?

A: Illumination means like a radiance, right? Like a light, sort of.

No, just abandon the idea of “like a light” kind of thing. It’s very important. If you have this idea that the nature of the mind is like a light, then it will be incorrect eventually. So abandon the idea of “that is like a light”. Previous Kalu Rinpoche has said that in his teaching “abandon the idea that the nature of the mind is like a light, or like an extreme light or something”. You know? So yeah.
