Kalu Rinpoche | Tonglen practice and freedom from clinging

Tonglen practice simply means visualizing all the sentient beings, visualizing all the sentient beings as your parents, as your family, as your relatives and sincerely thinking about them from the bottom of the heart, not as a Buddhist practice but rather as a practice to overcome your fixation.

You can say that “I have a fixation”, you can acknowledge it but doesn’t help anything.

You can tell other people that you have fixation. Other people can also tell you that you have a fixation. That doesn’t progress you any further.

Only way to progress further to overcome your fixation is to practice Tonglen.
