Good morning everyone. So today I have a small gift for you. It’s not a cake, not a cake.
It’s a, it’s a visualization from the Niguma herself. There’s something that you can apply to your daily routine, let’s say when you don’t have time to do the Yoga, but you can still do this practice.
So it’s a, I’m not really sure whether all of you are familiar with all the different traditions. Like an example, the Nyingma, Sakya, Kagyu, Gelug, Jonang. Majority of the all the major traditions, they have a preliminary practice. So within that preliminary practice, it has the Refuge, Cleansing practice with the Vajrasattva, Mandala practice, Guru Yoga practice, so these are the four preliminaries.
So, being said that, I think the most important that we need to really understand in this very moment is that, in the Niguma tradition, because when you say “Shangpa” it’s a combination of all the different masters’ teaching combined together, brought by Tibetan individual named Khyungpo Naljor from India to Tibet, you know. So that’s why we call it the ཤངས་པ་བཀའ་བརྒྱུད “Shangpa Kagyu”. Because where he established was the province name was “Shang”. བཀའ་བརྒྱུད “Kagyu” means: བཀའ “Ka” means “Teaching of the Buddhadharma”, བརྒྱུད “Gyu” means the “Lineage of the Buddha”. So like an example, the Nyingma is also “Kagyu”, Sakya is also “Kagyu”, Gelug is also “Kagyu”, Karma Kagyu is also “Kagyu”, Shangpa Kagyu is “Kagyu”. So བཀའ་བརྒྱུད “Kagyu” can be applied to everything as long it has the origin of teachings of the Buddha.
Or let’s say that Buddha reached enlightenment in Normandy, the Mahabodhi temple was in Normandy. And then the person from Bourgogne [Burgundy] went to Normandy to receive teachings, got Niguma’s teaching, came back to Burgundy, and he didn’t take any accomodation, And then he established in “La Boulaye” and then it becomes “La Boulaye Kagyu”. So that’s not so mystical at all, it’s just how it happened, where it happened, the location and the culture …
