Kalu Rinpoche | Tsawe-Lama (Part 5) – Stick to the Dharma practice

So be honest to yourself. And be sincere to your community.

Whether you are Nyingma, Sakya, Kagyu, Gelug, Jonang, doesn’t matter, or Shangpa, you know? Just try to be honest to yourself, you don’t have to be honest 100%, you know, but just try to be harmless, you know? Like His Holiness Dalaï Lama, he says “even you cannot help, at least try not to harm”. So you cannot try to help every time right? But at least try not to harm, just try not to make extra things, you know.

So that’s what I tell them all the time. Those who are close to me, those who are far from me. I always say the same thing. I don’t give them this sort of religious “Ah, I’m Kalu Rinpoche, I tell you, you don’t listen, you have a bad karma” I don’t do that.

I mean, of course I feel sad sometimes, you know when they don’t listen, but then I say, “okay, it’s okay, your life, your choice”. And I’m not trying to be “liberal” or being “open-minded” or being “modern”, I’m just being myself and a human should, all, everybody is a human being, and everybody have their own way of living their life, you know? So that’s that.

But what I cannot accept is people who lie, and people who manipulate and people who are, manipulate the truth itself, so they can get what they want for themself. It’s terrible people. And they exist everywhere. Just because you shifted to a new tradition doesn’t mean these people doesn’t exist. These people always exist everywhere, you know? So that’s that.

And stick to the Dharma practice. It’s always worth it. You know, just because people are Buddhist, doesn’t mean they are certified to be good and kind to everybody. You know? So that’s that.
