Kalu Rinpoche | All this deity practice are manifestation of the Buddha

With trust and devotion,
I take refuge in the Lama Protector inseperable.
For myself and others,
Please dispel all our obscuring emotions!

Many people they have this assumption that “I practice this deity, so now I have to be committed to this one” and then, “but if I receive more than one, then I have to abandon the another one, and then I have to accumulate with the other deity practice, other protector practice.” Little bit like you have to “pick one”, and then leave another one, you know? And that is an incorrect view.

Because whether it’s a Six Armed Mahakala, whether it’s a Vajrayogini, whether it’s a Chakrasamvara, all this deity practice are manifestation of the Buddha, or all the different individual of practitioners, by practicing one, with the bodhicitta in mind, dedication in mind, with the clarity in mind, and by practicing one, you’re practicing all. If you don’t have a bodhicitta in mind, don’t have the pure intention in mind, nor the dedication, practicing many means nothing.

Right? So therefore, having a very clear understanding, that the element of that foundation is far more important than collecting many.
